Susan Gierasik is a Scottish artist based in Edinburgh. Over the years she has worked using narrative in a figurative and abstract way, exploring the complexities when the two  overlap. Working closely with the landscape and geological forms, this improvised approach has enabled her to create a network of expressive marks, revealing aspects of identity, different memories, emotions and the therapeutic use of colour. She enjoys working on several pieces at once, creating a story within the layers. In many cases, when they are nearing completion, they are cut up and rearranged. She has used collage for many years, enjoying the immense possibilities it offers.

Susan offers 1-1 tuition in her studio in Edinburgh, constantly being inspired by her students and their different ways of working and seeing.
